ABOUT US

Evo Kitchen is an anomaly in this day and age.

 

Nothing is high tech.

​

Hardly any machinery or automation is used (except for an amazing tortilla press and griddle that takes 2 people working in unison like trained dancers to operate).

 

It's a simple low tech kitchen where a mother/daughter team - Vanessa and Maria Monteiro- have been supervising a small crew of close friends for well over a decade and where everything is made by hand - just like in your mother's or grandmother's kitchen.

 

We have a huge moringa tree out front - that Maria planted from a seed - and she regularly harvests its leaves and dries them and stuffs them into veggie caps and distributes to our community to prevent illness and keep everyone in good health.

 

We have tall medal shelves outside against our kitchen in the back - which catches the fading sun at the end of the day- and each shelve holds a hand made wood planter box filled with living basil - plants that we snip as needed to make our fresh walnut pesto.

 

The entire crew is constantly singing and dancing - especially our leader Vanessa - who improvises rhymes and rap like a metronome - keeping everyone in tune to the rhythm of the daily production.

 

Most of our ingredients are organic and we work with as many local suppliers as possible.
